Whats Included:

Weighted costume, weighted bags (0.8lbs each) equalling a total of 3.2 lbs of weight for Small (4 bags), 4 lbs for Medium (5 bags), 4.8lb for Large (6 bags), and 5.6lb for Extra Large (7 bags). 

Interior Pockets:

Pockets on both the front and back sides of the costumes for 360 weight distribution. 

Helps with:

        • Hyposensitivity and Hypersensitivity for deep pressure and calming when over stimulated by sensory input or to help calm when sensory seeking.
          • Attention

          • Organization of body and brain
          • For kids with sensory processing disorder, anxiety, ADHD, Autism
      • Includes costume and removable weights.
      • If you just want to purchase costume due to having weights at home, pockets included in costume.
      • Includes for Small-4 (0.8lb weights),  Medium- 5 (0.8lb weights), Large 6 (0.8lb weights), and Extra Large- 7 (0.8lb weights

To wash remove weights and wash on cold. Air dry. Weights can be surfaced washed. Air dry.

Does the weighted costume come with added weights?

Yes! All our costumes come with weights the size depends on how much weight comes with it. Each weighted bag is 0.8lbs. The small comes with 4 weights, medium 5 weights, large 6 weights and XL 7 weights. Additionally, we offer weights to be purchased a la carte if you would like to have more weight then is offered.

Who could benefit from a weighted costume?

Kids that have sensory processing difficulties, difficulties with self regulation and attention, autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, poor body awareness and poor body in space. These costumes are a fun alternative to the “classic” weighted vests out there. Kids are asking to wear these!

 

Safety Guidelines: All Dress Up to Calm Down weighted products are for therapeutic use only and they should not be considered toys. Please read these Safety Guidelines before using your weighted products.

 

USING YOUR WEIGHTED PRODUCTS

Adult supervision is recommended when using all weighted costumes and products. Stop use if user reports fatigue, pain or any discomfort.

• Recommended for children at least 3 years of age

• Weight should be added or removed per user’s needs.

-10% of total body weight is a recommended standard.

-Total weight should never exceed 10-15% of total body weight.

• Only one weighted product should be used at a time.

• Do not sleep in weighted clothing or with any weighted product unless it is a blanket.

• User should be able to remove weighted product on their own.

• Weighted products are not meant to be worn all day, only for short periods of time.

 

INSPECTING YOUR WEIGHTED PRODUCTS

• Inspect costumes prior to each use. Inspect both the outside costume and inner weighted pockets and weights.

• Look for loose stitching, ripped seams, fraying, torn or worn areas.

• If product is damaged, do not use until it is fixed or replaced.

 

CARING FOR YOUR WEIGHTED PRODUCTS

• Costumes are machine washable with weights removed on cold and then air dry. Weighted bags are surface clean only and air dry.
